The Restylane family of injectable fillers is comprised of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring component of the skin that is responsible for its volume, plumpness and smoothness. Hyaluronic acid levels decline with age, resulting in fine lines, wrinkles, creases and hollows. Hyaluronic acid injectables such as Restylane-L, Restylane Lyft and Restylane Silk attract water within the skin to instantly restore volume and smooth the skin’s surface. Mainline Facial Plastic Surgeon Dr. Jason Bloom has extensive experience with the Restylane family of products, and he can use one or more to improve the appearance of a wide array of cosmetic concerns.
Restylane-L is a medium density hyaluronic acid filler that can be used to correct nasolabial folds (the “parentheses” on the sides of the mouth) or fill undereye hollows. This injectable is formulated with lidocaine to minimize discomfort before and after treatment. Restylane Lyft is a high-density hyaluronic acid filler that is best used for restoring facial volume to the midface and temples, as well as adding definition to the chin and jawline. As the lowest volume Restylane filler, Silk was developed for enhancing lip volume and filling fine lines around the lips (i.e. smoker’s lines). Dr. Jason Bloom also uses Restylane products to lift the brows, improve the appearance of acne scars, plump droopy earlobes and even smooth nasal bumps for an “injectable nose job.”
